Meet Tru
Tru is a very handsome and healthy, two-year-old, tri-color American crowned guinea pig looking for a loving guardian.
Tru was relinquished to Friends of Petraits Rescue from a family where he lived with ten other males. He has been neutered to help him find a friend – either male or female! But, he can also live as the one and only guinea pig, or in a habitat next to another guinea pig.
Tru loves to be hand fed, and eats unlimited timothy, orchard and botanical hays, a cup of fresh salad each day including cilantro, green and red leaf lettuce, parsley, and only a ¼ cup of guinea pig pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C from fresh pellets, a 1-inch square of red pepper, or some of their dark leafy greens.
Please read up on guinea pig care and diet before adopting by visiting this excellent website http://www.guinealynx.info/
Tru would love a home with people who will handle him daily, keep him well-fed, nails trimmed, and keep his habitat nice and clean.
If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Tru, please fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting friendsofpetraits@gmail.com
His adoption fee of $75 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $50, you can purchase his 2 foot by 4 foot Midwest guinea pig habitat and a starter kit of all the supplies you’ll need to care for him.
Tru is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
