Adopters should do plenty of research prior to adopting a chin as a pet. They need a specific temperature range and cage environment. Vetting can be very expensive as they are exotic animals. Experienced chin owners preferred as most of our chins did not come from the best backgrounds- they require patience. Setups and any needed upgrades we have done may be included in the adoption fee. Rebecca- Rebecca is a standard gray chinchilla and is about 2 years old. She was purchased from a pet store. Rebecca is very independent and curious. She loves floor time and exploring. She jumps really high- watch out! Rebecca loves running on her wheel and rolling in her bath. She is NOT a fan of lots of pets or handling. She prefers to do her own thing. She is territorial and would be best staying on her own.

Martha- Martha was also purchased from a pet store and is a standard gray. She’s about 1 year old. She is more shy, but allows gentle pets over time. She’s more timid and doesn’t do as well with change. She’s not a big explorer, so floor time isn’t really her favorite. She takes a while to warm up to new people- so if she barks at you, don’t take it personally. She likes her new wheel but may need encouragement to get in for a dust bath. She may do well with another female chin, but may also just be happy with dedicated human.
