Matcha & Chai BONDED PAIR Gerbil Gerbil Minneapolis, MN

Matcha and Chai came to Tiny Whiskers in October of 2023 when their owner could sadly no longer keep them. They were approximately 2 years old upon intake. Gerbils can live 3-4 years.

Matcha is the lilac gerbil with lovely pink eyes, and Chai is the beautiful burmese. They are both friendly and curious but like many gerbils don't want to sit still for long. Put your hands in their cage and they'll come out to explore and crawl over you, or you can take them out in a playpen to explore. They are okay with being briefly picked up but would rather stay on the floor and get to know you at their own pace.

They would be well suited to beginner or experienced gerbil owners. Gerbils make really fantastic companions but tend to get looked over. You'll love watching these best friends explore life together.

Gerbils are chewers so we recommend glass, metal, or thick wooden enclosures for them, rather than plastic. Hard plastic wheels such as NiteAngel, Bucatstate, or Kaytee Silent Spinners are typically fine, but softer plastic wheels may be chewed on. Metal or wooden wheels are appropriate as well.

Matcha and Chai are currently in a foster home in Minneapolis. We can meet within an hour of the Twin Cities or Faribault for adoptions. Potentially further, please inquire so we can discuss.
