Meet Elton John
*Please read FULL description before inquiring.*
Elton is such a curious little guy! He was found loose outdoors, and appears to be around 8 months of age. In Decatur, IL (where Elton was found), there is an ongoing issue of currently approximately 100 domesticated rabbits who are the offspring of 2 opposite sex rabbits purchased from Rural King. Domesticated rabbits can not survive the challenges of the outdoors well, and it’s quite likely Elton wouldn’t have made it through the winter. While domesticated rabbits aren’t the hardiest of animals, they also reproduce very fast, hence why the pair of bunnies’ offspring have now populated Decatur.
Elton is quite friendly and does not mind being picked up for nail trims or hugs and kisses. We believe he would do well in a home with children, dogs, and/or cats who are respectful of him.
If you're interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application at www.hhsar.org/adopt. The adoption fee is $60, which does not include a habitat, cage, pen, or any supplies. We regularly have used habitats, cages, pens and supplies available for a donation fee. Please contact us for more information. We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a shelter location where our animals can be visited. We can arrange a visit if you're interested in adopting, but we require an adoption application to be submitted before.
