Hi, I’m Hazel! I’m a smart, playful, and affectionate dog looking for a home that matches my energy and personality. I absolutely love water. Whether it’s swimming, playing with the hose, or chasing sprinklers, I’m always up for some splashing fun.
I get along well with dogs and dog-savvy cats (those calm, confident cats who don’t run or startle easily). Slow introductions are key to helping me settle in with new friends. I’m also good with kids but can get jumpy when I’m excited, so older children or those familiar with dogs would be a great fit.
I’m fully housebroken and know lots of commands like Sit, Stay, Roll Over, Shake, and more. I’m working on my leash manners and doing better every day, though I can still get reactive to some dogs and cats on walks. With patience and consistency, I’ll keep improving and thriving.
I have some environmental and food allergies, but they’re managed perfectly with my current routine. I do great on Go! Insect formula and receive Cytopoint injections regularly. My allergies are very stable, and my adopter will have all the details to keep me healthy and comfortable.
I do best with another dog in the home to help with my separation anxiety. Having a dog companion gives me confidence when my humans are away. When my foster mom is gone, I relax in a room with my dog buddy, Tia, and spend the day napping on the bed. I’ve also handled short periods left alone on the couch, but I’ll need some dog-proofing since I’ve figured out how to open cabinets and drawers.
I’m also a big cuddler — every morning, I love waking my foster mom up with kisses before snuggling in as the little spoon and sharing her pillow. I’m a silly girl with a love for throw pillows and tend to roll off the couch or bed daily, but I take it all in stride.
If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, and intelligent companion, I can’t wait to meet you!
