Meet Marigold

Meet Marigold!
This girl is a beautiful flower ready to bloom in the right environment. She is around 50lbs and around 1 ½ years old. Her paperwork lists her as a Boxer mix! ?
Marigold is a lover! She will try to make a friend of any human she meets, and if you’re her particular friend she’ll want to sit in your lap and cuddle right in. Mari gets along with other dogs in general and while on leash, but she’ll need to meet any potential dogs sibs prior to adoption. (She loves to zoom and play and cuddle but some doggos are less extroverted.) Her foster home has one extremely dog-confident cat and Mari is occasionally too interested but has never been aggressive.
Did we mention that Marigold loves people? Her forever human(s) are required to love co-napping with Marigold, to enjoy Marigold hanging out on or at their feet, and to tolerate Marigold following them into the bathroom. She’s both praise and treat motivated and has responded well to training exercises. Mari also loves chew toys and bones, and is the best at “fetch”.
Marigold isn’t perfect (who is?) so we’ll tell you about that too. She hates being crated and will let you know it (she needs a solid sided crate to prevent escape antics). She’s all right on a leash but really benefits from a harness so her people can ensure she doesn’t try to hug unwilling strangers or initiate play with unwilling doggos. It takes her a while to learn new potty schedules/places. She loves to explore things to their detriment with her mouth.
All that said, Marigold has made huge strides in learning how to live in a home since she came to PPAWS 3 months ago. Mari is young and probably never experienced being an “inside dog” before.
Marigold wants so badly to be loved. She’s learning to be the good girl that she wants to be for her forever family. Right now she just needs patience, training, and affection, and she will give them back cuddles and kisses x1000!
Marigold is fixed and has all her vax & preventatives. Apply to adopt at purple-paws.org
