Auggie (special dietary needs) Labrador Retriever & Beagle Mix Saint Charles, IL

Hi there, my name is Auggie and I am an amazing beautiful dog, if I do say so myself. I am very sweet and when I want attention or affection I may coo lovingly at you to let you know how I feel about you. I am house and crate trained and knows simple commands. I am a two-year old, 43 pound black lab-beagle mix; of my brothers and sisters I am the one who looks most like a lab.

I sleep through the night on a dog bed in my foster family’s bed room and live with several other dogs, large and small-I get along with everyone. I love to go on walks and run & play at the dog park. I am house trained and walk very well on a leash. Being part hound I have a ton of energy but can just as easily laze around the house all day. I am not at all food aggressive, but can be food focused - who doesn’t love food.

Speaking of food my foster family learned through trial and error that I have a few food allergies and to not be itchy I require a special diet which is Grain-free, fish only protein - there are several different brands I like and I do well on all of them. I should also be in a home with no other dogs or dogs that are eating the same diet as I am. The real reason I need to find a new home is I am allergic to Timothy Hay, my first family had pet rabbits whose main food source is Timothy Hay, I now know to live without being itchy I shouldn’t be in a home with animals who eat this as their main food source- rabbits and chinchillas. Everyone who meets me say “what a great boy I am” or “he will make some family happy”. So, can you be my family so I can make you happy? I know I have a restricted diet requirements but I love to be loved and have lots of love to give. Thank you, Auggie!

All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, current on their vaccinations, heartworm tested if age appropriate; treated for fleas/ticks and urgently awaiting adoption!


The dogs and cats are so very appreciative of your support. Together we can save these forsaken loving 'innocents' who are condemned to death.
