Meet Adopted!!Nicholas - IL
Nicholas is a young Bichon/schnauzer mix that was brought to a shelter as a stray and suffered from a very severe case of pneumonia.
He was born approximately 2013 and weighs about 15 pounds.
Small Paws Rescue stepped in and gave him a shot at a wonderful life!
After a few weeks of healing he has transformed from a shy, withdrawn exhausted boy to a very vibrant playful little guy with tons of personality and a sassy little attitude to match. Ha!
Nicholas is a very loving dog who really enjoys being around his people. He loves to play, he loves to snuggle, and he loves to just explore his surroundings.
Now, if given the chance Nicholas might dart out unexpectedly through an open gate or open door. He would do best with a fenced yard.
He loves people and he especially loves to get his ears scratched and his belly rubbed. He also loves to give playful nibbles so he needs a home without small children who cannot withstand playfulness or occasional jumping. Because of this, children should be at least 10 years old.
Nicholas is very intelligent, and he learns quickly. We are working on basic commands with the clicker, and so far he is doing very well.
Potty training has gone very smoothly, and Nicholas is learning to come up to his person and is now giving cues when he needs to go outside. Nicholas loves to lay around the house and look out the window, and he will bark if somebody knocks on the door or walks past the house.
Nicholas is also very good with other dogs, he loves to play with the big dogs, but he is also very good with little dogs. He is unknown with cats so he needs a "no kitty home.
Nicholas is not a fan of the crate, and he seems to prefer sleeping nearby his person at the foot of the bed. He does well left alone for short periods of time in a room secured by gate as he just lays in his dog bed and rests until his people come. Nicholas is a good eater, and loves the occasional doggy snack. Nicholas loves every single person that he meets. You will not find a better cuddler and he enjoys taking snuggly little naps with his people. There isn't a much better package than this little guy right here. Nicholas is seeking his forever home where he can shower somebody with loyalty, unconditional love and tons of fluffy snuggles. Nicholas needs another dog in the home or someone home most of the time. Children need to be at least 10 years old. He’s being fostered in IL
