10/16/2016: Oliver is just about as cute and goofy as they get! He’s built like a tank, and he’s a big love bug. He’s super sweet, wiggly, cuddly and he’s all about rolling over for the belly rub. Oliver is an American Staffordshire, and he’s very cute with his speckled coat, big head, and short and stocky body. He is about 7 years old and, although he’s pretty low to the ground, he weighs 60 lbs.

Oliver is very people friendly, but with his tank-like body and excitability, he could easily knock down small children so wouldn’t be a good match for someone with little kiddos. We think he’d be fine around older kids.

Oliver needs a home without other dogs or cats. He can be near other dogs and go on walks near other dogs without reacting, but he hasn’t accepted being introduced to other dogs. He’d been attacked by a dog before being brought to us and was torn up pretty badly. We got him all fixed up and his wounds healed, but unfortunately he also had heartworms so had to go thru treatment. He’s just now finished up his heartworm treatment, so this little cutie is ready for his new home!

Oliver has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
