Meet Milton
Milton is a sweet, mellow, handsome fellow, looking for a home where he won't have to worry about other cats getting into his personal space. Mitty has great social skills with people of all sizes, and he's been agreeable to meeting well-behaved dogs in his neighborhood. He just doesn't want any other felines in his world. We don't know the source of these feelings, but we have learned they are non-negotiable.
Almost all our rescued cats are placed in indoor-only homes, and Milton was agreeable to that--for awhile. He was in pretty rough shape when we rescued him from a precarious situation (living on a grassy patch next to a freeway exit) and has been bounced around a bit due to no fault of his own. We took care of his health and medical needs and he was pretty happy with the accommodations at his foster home: heated beds with excellent views, room service, and a couple of doting humans attending to his every need.
But eventually he made it known that he wanted to get outdoors and meet a few more people. He doesn't want to go far--just around the yard and out to the sidewalk to greet the folks walking up and down his street, including kids on their way to school and the pooches who walk along with them. Mitty is just a social butterfly with fear of missing out! Once he's made his rounds, he's happy to sit on the porch to gossip and snooze until dinner time.
The perfect home for Mitty will have lots of places for him to hang out with his people indoors, and a safe area for him to enjoy some time outdoors every day. A catio or other enclosed area would be ideal.
Milton is about 12 years old and has been thoroughly vetted and has no special needs. As he grows older, he may benefit from prescription diet food, but he currently eats a variety of high-quality kibble and canned foods.
Milton, like all ARCF cats for adoption, has been neutered, microchipped, is up to date on vaccines, and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV. Our adoption fee for senior cats is $40.
Please give us a call or email if you think your home is the right one for Milton. 503-402-8692 or arcf@pdx-petadoption.org or click the green "Ask About Me" button on this page. Our adoption coordinator will respond promptly. Please note that we place cats in the following counties only: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark.
Animal Rescue & Care Fund is a small rescue organization. We rescue homeless animals only, and do not accept owner-surrendered pets. All our animals live with volunteers in their homes until they are matched with the right permanent family. Thank you for considering one of our pets for adoption.
