1/8/2017: Warren is a super cute Australian Shepherd/Retriever mix. He’s a year old and currently weighs about 60 lbs. His right eye is partially blue. Warren is a sweet and silly boy and he LOVES to play! He likes other dogs a lot and likes playing out in the yard with them. Warren is very active and we'd like to find him a home where he'd have another playful dog and a backyard to play in. You could make an appointment to bring your dog in to meet Warren. He also loves to go for walks and would be a good runner.

When Warren first came to us last summer, he was anxious in new surroundings and afraid of strangers, especially men. We've worked with him and seen progress, but he still reacts to some strangers and is nervous in new surroundings. Once he knows you, he's super affectionate and loving. Warren will need a home with someone who has dog experience and is comfortable working with a fearful dog who has some fear aggression. We also feel that having another dog in the home will help his confidence, besides giving him a buddy to play with. Obedience classes or a home trainer would be great for him and help him gain confidence as well. Warren wouldn’t be a good match for someone with young kids.

Warren was originally at KCK Animal Control and he had parvo, so we transferred him to our shelter to provide him with medical care. He’s healthy now and ready for his new home! He’s also been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms. He's very lanky right now and we're estimating that he’ll weigh around 70 lbs when filled out.

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
