Meet Rosa: Adopted!
ROSA IS IN A FOSTER HOME. Please submit an online adoption form if you would like to meet her. Thank you!
Date of birth: 4/2013
1/24/2017: Rosa is a super sweet little Bull Terrier mix. We think she may have some type of Shepherd or Cattle Dog mixed in there, but hard to really say what she is. We do know that she’s cute as can be, and she’s a little love bug! She’s about 3 years old, and she weighs 40 lbs and has short legs. She’s pretty mellow and easy-going.
Rosa was brought to us after someone saw her get hit by a car. She had a fractured pelvis and dislocated femur. And she tested positive for heartworms. Little Rosa endured several weeks of cage rest and short leash walks to allow her pelvis to heal, and then heartworm treatment. But now she's all healed up and ready for her new home! She enjoys going for long walks. Her injuries did not require surgery and she’s not on any medication. She will most likely have arthritis there in the future. Our vets and staff could provide more info to you about her injury.
Rosa needs a home without cats. She gets along with some but not all dogs. She does better with mellow dogs-- her kennel mate and buddy is Tater Tot, and he's a pretty mellow guy. Rosa has met some kids and does well with them, but would do best with kids who are older and not rambunctious with her. Rosa has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She’s a sweetie!
MORE ON ADOPTING OUR DOGS...
Please visit our web site at HSGKC.ORG for more information about our adoption process, our adoption fees and all that's included, and for a pet adoption application.
> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!
> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.
> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
Thank you for searching for a shelter pet!
