Meet Lola
Meet Lola!
Lola is an all around sweet, sweet, girl. She is approximately four years old and was originally named by our rescue, Dotty, for her adorable black spots. About a month ago Lola's original owner saw her on our Petfinder listing and recognized her as their former dog. That's how we learned her name was Lola. Unfortunately, the mystery of how Lola ended up a stray at the shelter has not been solved, and the original owner is very ill so he was unable to take her back.
Lola gets along great with other dogs and is very affectionate with people. Although she is a breed that is known for being super athletic - and Lola definitely has the build for it, she is actually pretty calm. She rides great in the car, and sits nicely in the bathtub for a bath. She also loves to play with toys.
Lola would love nothing more than to be with her person/people. She has separation anxiety and is doing well in a home with a dog door, a dog companion, and a person who isn't gone all day to work. She can be a pill when you leave the house because she REALLY wants to go with you! She will do just about anything to bolt out the door with you. Lola does great living with another dog in the home. She is playful but not too pushy. She even gets along with other female dogs. We are not sure about cats.
Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes. All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have a few of our dogs available for meets at the Tanasbourne Petco on Thursdays from 4-7pm and at PetSmart on 185th every other Sunday from noon until 3pm. Or, if you're interested in a particular dog, you can send an e-mail with answers to the questions below via the purple Contact this Organization button at the upper right of the pet's description. Just copy and paste the questions into your email to respond. If the dog seems compatible with your situation we'll set up a time for you to meet the dog.
Do you have other pets now? (briefly describe)
Have you had pets in the past? What became of them?
What kind of exercise will you provide for the dog? (type/frequency)
What is your schedule like? How long/often will the dog be alone?
Where will the dog be while you're gone? Where will the dog be when you're home? Where will the dog sleep?
Who else lives in the home? Do you have children? How old are the children?
Are you in a home or apartment? How long have you lived there? Do you have a fully, securely fenced yard? (type/height)
Do you own or rent your home?
What changes in your life are likely in the next 10+ years (or life span of the dog) and how will the changes affect the dog? (moving, job or schedule change, school, having children)
Anything else you'd like us to consider in finding the right dog for your family?

Thank you for your interest in adopting and saving a life.
