Hancock County Humane Foundation
Our Mission
To end euthanasia as a means of population control. To provide low cost services to reduce the numbers of unwanted litters. To unite animal welfare advocates in our community for even more impact for the animals. To make a positive impact in the lives of animals in our community. To provide resources to community animal caretakers. To ensure resources are accessible to individuals wanting to help animals.
About Us
The Foundation has been saving animals in Hancock County for over 25 years. In recent years, 25 low cost spay and neuter clinics have been held, resulting in over 1,000 cats being altered, thus preventing tens of thousands of cats filling local shelters and potentially being euthanized. Additionally, the Foundation has completely vetted and housed over 250 cats, with many being placed in forever homes through adoption events. The Foundation also has provided veterinary services to dogs in need, provided the community with a dog food bank, as well as providing appropriate housing for dogs in need.
