JRs Pups-n-Stuff
Our Mission
Our first dogs arrived through the efforts of two volunteers who drove through the night to the Kentucky/Tennessee border. Holli and her nine 1 week old puppies, and Chiqua who was expecting her puppies any day, were carefully transported back and placed in foster homes, where they would be until their puppies reached eight weeks of age and their forever homes were found. Since our first adoption of Shelby, JRs Pups-N-Stuff has found forever homes for over 7,000 dogs, we are working to place over 100 dogs right now as well. We have also placed over 100 cats. Heartworm treatments have been provided for over 700 dogs.
Heartworm would be a death sentence for these dogs if they were left in the shelters. With the one heartworm medication no longer in production, heartworm preventative is even more critical than ever. None of this could have been done without the support and dedication of the volunteers and adopters.
Our rescue was built by a network of foster parents. Through the growth, we have discovered the greatest joys life can offer. We found kind, wonderful and caring people that have joined us. Not only people who want to foster dogs, but who will transport them, build websites, do home visits, and manage paperwork. As the group grows, we are able to save the lives of more dogs every day. We are doing what we set out to do. We've become the little rescue with a big heart.
Are you looking for a forever friend? Someone who will love you as much as you love them? Someone to cuddle with after a bad day? Someone to join you on a run or a hike or even a bike ride? If you are, we might just have your new best friend!
JRs Pups-N-Stuff began with one goal in mind - to save animals from life threatening situations. That ideal has gotten us to where we are today. We've had quite a few happy endings and will continue to provide excellent homes to all future rescue dogs. We do not discriminate. We do not rescue dogs specifically because of their breed or age. We rescue animals that need us to save their lives. They may be at risk of euthanasia for many reasons. Primarily this is due to space limitations or health issues.
Adoption Policy
Our process includes the completion of our application. Upon completion of the application we will:
Contact your vet for information on current and previous animals. It is critical that you have authorized your vet to release information to us.
If you are a renter, we will contact your landlord for verification of animal acceptance, or you can provide a copy of your lease.
Complete a background check using publicly available information.
If applying to adopt a dog, we will complete a home visit which requires all household members to be present.
After the approval is complete you will be free to meet our animals. When meeting dogs, all members of the household as well as any dogs will be required to meet prior to finalizing any adoption.
PLEASE NOTE: We will NOT adopt puppies under 6 months of age to families with children under 8 years of age.
JRs does adoptions with out of area families. We do the home visit via Skype or Facetime. After an approval we do require that all family members, including any existing dogs, travel to the foster home to meet the potential adoptee. We do not ship animals.
Our process is thorough and allows us to make every effort to identify the right match for your family. Please be forthcoming of all information during the process as that is what allows us to find the match. Adding a new family member is FOREVER and will adjust your free time, finances and overall life style. Animal adoption is a serious decision.
JR's Pups-N-Stuff, Inc. is a volunteer based organization. Most volunteers have full time jobs and families. Our dedication to helping each and every animal find the right match can take time. Please understand and be patient during the process. Thank you.
