Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin (formerly the Rock County Humane Society) is a private nonprofit 501c3 organization whose mission is to provide shelter and humane care to lost and homeless pets, reunite lost pets with their families, promote positive pet adoptions and educate our community in order to inspire compassion and responsible pet guardianship.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12pm-7pm, Closed on Wednesday, and open Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-5pm.
We have a conversation-based and open adoption process. We recommend bringing the whole family to meet with the pet(s) you are interested in adopting and allowing any current dog residents to meet other dogs here at the shelter before going home to. After meeting and counseling, there is just a little paperwork to go over and fill out.
