Yakima Valley Pet Rescue
Our Mission
Every day dogs and cats in the Yakima Valley die from neglect, homelessness, or are euthanized in shelters. This is unnecessary. Almost every animal brought to a rescue has the potential of being a loyal and loving pet, if only given the chance. Please help us help them.
Yakima Valley Pet Rescue and Adoption Center is a non-profit, no-kill pet rescue organization led by dedicated volunteers. We save homeless and neglected dogs and cats from around the Yakima Valley, and beyond, and find them loving, happy homes. Since our inception in 2003, we have saved over 13,000 pets.
None of this could be done without the help of our community, partners, and people like you. Please consider helping us by giving a donation today.
If you are looking to adopt a pet, find a home for a pet, or receive spay or neuter assistance – we can help! Please take the time to look through our website for the information you need. If you do not find it, please Contact Us!
We are also always in need of volunteers, foster homes, and donations of food and supplies.
Adoption Policy
Applications for our pets must be filled out at https://yvpr.org/adoptions/, not the petfinder site.
An application must be filled out and approved before a meet can be set up. If approved, you will hear from us within 72 hours. You will have the opportunity to ask questions before you meet the pet; an adoption may or may not happen at that time. We do adopt outside the Yakima area IF you are able to come to Yakima to pick up your adopted pet. We do not have a kennel facility; all of our pets are in foster homes. Therefore, meets and adoptions take place at either our office or at a place chosen by the adoption coordinator. If a pet has 'pending' beside its name, an adoption is imminent. Please fill out an application anyway because adoptions don't always go through. Your application will be kept on file for 30 days in case you find another pet you'd like to apply for. Thanks for thinking adoption and Good Luck! For more information go to http://yvpr.org/adoptions.html
