CHEW Dog Rescue - Canine Health Education and Welfare
Our Mission
CHEW Dog Rescue is a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing abandoned dogs, dogs slated for euthanasia due to shelter space limitations, and other dogs who need us. We are always working to find additional foster homes and acquire funding for veterinary care and other essential elements of dog rescue. We are based in the Gig Harbor peninsula area of Washington State, but welcome foster homes from nearby Pierce and Kitsap counties.
Adoption Policy
We require a completed adoption application first for any dog that is adoptable. You can find a link for this on our website at CHEWDogRescue.org/adopt.
We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.
