The Isle of Wight County Sheriff's Office Animal Services Division is committed to public safety and animal protection through sheltering, adoption programs, education, and animal law enforcement.
Adoption Policy
All of our adoptable dogs are listed here on PetFinder. The cats you find listed here are our more urgent cats needing homes whether due to special needs or having been in the shelter for a significant time period. All of our adoptable cats can be seen on Petango.com which is connected to our shelter database software. While there isn’t as much room for details as PetFinder you can at least view all adoptable cats with their basic info. Then give us a call if you see one you’d like to meet. You can also submit an online application.
We have dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, breeds and mixes available for adoption.  Adoption fees are $90 for dogs, $75 for cats and $25 for all other companion animals.  The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming and rabies, along with heart worm testing for dogs. Please keep in mind a vet office would easily charge $300 plus for all of those services.  If you have any questions, please call us 757-365-6318. Â
