Fuzzy Friends Rescue
Our Mission
Fuzzy Friends Rescue believes that animals, as living creatures, are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. Our mission is to provide shelter, food, medical treatment and love to our community’s animals that are abandoned, unwanted, or otherwise in need. We want to instill in our community an awareness of these animals. We encourage and promote responsible pet ownership.
Fuzzy Friends Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization that cares for homeless and unwanted animals in a life-care environment. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another, and we care for all those we take in until they are adopted.
We try to place our animals in new homes with caring families in a timely manner. Some reside at Fuzzy Friends Rescue only a few days, others a few weeks, and sometimes it takes months of care and rehabilitation before they are able to go to a new home. For the harder-to-place animals, their stay may be a year or more. Unless they have developed an incurable disease or have displayed persistent aggression, each and every animal has a home at Fuzzy Friends Rescue until they can be found a permanent, loving home.
Adoption Policy
• Choose a pet from our online listings
• Fill out the application
The person who will be the primary caretaker for the pet should be the one who fills out the application. We do require that adopters be 21 years old or older.
We ask for information about your home/family and current/previous pets to make sure the pet you are interested in is a good fit. We also request information about the vet(s) you have used for routine preventive care, so we can verify the records for pets you have. If you rent, we also need the landlord’s permission for you to adopt. At least 2 years of verifiable, consistent vet history of preventive care is *required* for applications on puppies under 1 year old.
• Have the application processed
Please be patient, the process takes an average of 2-3 business days. For pets with numerous applications, the process can take about a week.
• Once the application is approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet the pet(s) you were approved for.
• Come to our facility for your appointment. If you have a current dog or dogs, remember to bring them for the meet & greet!
• If it's a good fit, fill out paperwork, pay the adoption fee and take your pet home!
*Please note, in the event that we receive multiple applications for the same pet, it is NOT first come, first serve. The applications are reviewed together and the one that seems to be the best fit for that pet is approved.
**Fuzzy Friends Rescue does not knowingly misrepresent any animals age, condition of health or temperament. Because Fuzzy Friends Rescue derives its only source of funding through donations, applicants agree not to hold the organization financially liable if, after adoption, this animal becomes ill or is unsuitable for their home environment. All animals adopted from Fuzzy Friends Rescue are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
