Etosha Rescue and Adoption Center
Our Mission
Etosha Rescue and Adoption Center was established in Castroville, Texas, in 1988 and relocated to Seguin in 1996. We are one of the oldest no-kill shelters in Texas and the only one in Guadalupe County to provide 24/7 care of animals in need. We also help other shelters, humane societies and rescue groups find resources for the increasing number of pets abandoned by their owners.
Etosha’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find permanent, loving homes for companion animals. Pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption. We have no time limit for a dog or cat to be adopted; they stay with us until a suitable home is found. Without a doubt, our greatest achievement for both animals and people is the success of our low-cost spay/neuter program. This year-round program was first implemented in 2009 and has made possible the sterilization of 12,803 dogs and cats so far, thus preventing thousands of unwanted litters in the future. We are unique in the area because we don’t limit spay/neuter assistance to Seguin or Guadalupe County residents.
