City of Lancaster Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The City Of Lancaster is dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals. We provide for and protect the abandoned, abused, orphaned, and unwanted animals in our community and attempt to find them loving homes. We pride ourselves in the cleanliness of the facility, the attention to the animals, and the ability to work with reputable rescue organizations.  Â
Donations of  leashes, carriers, newspaper, towels and cleaning products such as bleach, disinfectant, and laundry soap are always needed and welcome.  You may drop off donations to the shelter any time the shelter is open.
Adoption Policy
The adoption fee is $25 and a $15 microchip fee , and they receive their first dog/cat vaccinations as well as a dewormer. You must be 18 or over and have a valid state issued ID. State law requires that all adopted animals be vaccinated for Rabies and sterilized. As the adopter, you are responsible for having this done and will need to take your new friend to a veterinarian.
The Lancaster shelter hours of operation are Monday-Friday 10am-4pm and we are closed Saturdays & Sundays.
Please make sure you give yourself ample time to meet a potential new pet.
