Humboldt Animal Shelter
Our Mission
Our goal at Humboldt Animal Shelter is to prioritize the stray or displaced dogs in Humboldt, Tennessee. We will ensure that all dogs that come through our facility are treated with the upmost respect and understanding of whatever their background may have been.
Adoption Policy
All adopters are required to fill out an adoption application for the animal they are interested in. If you have adopted from us in the past, please reach out as you do NOT have to fill out an additional application!
Once you have submitted you adoption application, please give us around 72 hours to process your information. If you believe we may have missed your app, please feel free to email us at humboldtshelter@gmail.com and send us a reminder!
Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet. In most cases, adopters are required to come to us. We typically will not transport a dog for adoption if the potential owners have not yet the dog. Special cases may be considered!
Our goal with the meet and greet is to ensure the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you and your family. We highly encourage bringing any other dogs in the family! We want to make sure they are a good match with your new pup before they go home.
If all goes well with the meet and greet, you are free to take your new pet home the same day. In most cases, the dog will already be spayed/neutered, but if in any instance they are not, we will have you schedule this with your vet prior to leaving our property.
