Rhode Island Feline Rescue
Our Mission
Rhode Island Feline Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster based 501(c)3 rescue dedicated to helping stray, neglected, abandoned, abused, sick, and/or pregnant cats and kittens. We provide necessary veterinary care and ensure the cats and kittens are adopted into suitable homes that are the best fit for both cat and owner. We also help reduce the overpopulation through education and trap/neuter/release.
Adoption Policy
We have a very detailed Adoption Application as well as an adoption coordinator system. Once an application is received, it will be reviewed by the adoption coordinator, vet records confirmed, residence status, renting/landlord information, pet permission, and employment verified then the coordinator conducts an interview with the potential adopter. If deemed a good match, the adoption coordinator forwards the information about the potential adopter to the foster. If the foster also agrees then they will have a meet and greet. At the completion of the meeting, if both parties agree the cat/kittens is a good fit an adoption contract is signed, and the adoption fee paid.
We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis.
All the cats and kittens in our care receive the following: checkup, spay/neuter, rabies & distemper vaccines, de-worming medicine, flea preventative, microchip, and Felv/FIV test.
