Oregon Coast Humane Society
Our Mission
Our mission is to rescue, care for, and find responsible, loving, permanent homes for homeless and at-risk dogs and cats; to advance the goal of a no-kill community; to promote the principal of a lifetime commitment to our pets; and to provide for spay-neuter and educational programs to the public.
Adoption Policy
OCHS strives to assist adopters with every aspect of pet ownership. All of our animals are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, prior to being adopted.
If you are interested in adopting, please download and complete an Adoption Survey from our website, (www.oregoncoasthumanesociety.org), or come in to the shelter to fill one out in person. Each application is reviewed by an adoption counselor, who will help you learn about your new pet's needs and answer any questions you may have .
Some of our animals are in foster homes or are out of the facility for the day. If you are interested in a particular animal, please call ahead to ensure the animal is onsite for you to visit. If an animal is not onsite, a meet and greet will be setup, for as soon as possible. If you are interested in a dog and currently have dog(s) at home, please know that a meet and greet between the dogs is also required, to ensure everyone gets along, prior to adoption.
If you rent your home, please be sure to get landlord approval, prior to adopting.
Adoptions are first come, first served, and we cannot hold animals for any reason. Submitting an application for an animal is not a guarantee of placement.
All adopters must be at least 21 years of age and provide a photo ID.
