Our Mission
The Henry County Humane Society is no kill animal shelter located in Napoleon Ohio that strives to help offer sanctuary and rehoming to animals in need. One of our facility goals is to spread education and information It is our mission to not only protect the lives of animals, but to ensure the safety of our community as well. By caring for and re-homing animals that would otherwise be forgotten and dismissed. It is our duty to help provide services such as testing, spaying, neutering, and immunizations by promoting adoptions of healthy animals, and preventing the spread of animal diseases. It is also our goal to promote responsible ownership.
Adoption Policy
Our animals are tested, vaccinated, spayed/neutered before they go home and all is included in the adoption fee! Â
Anyone interested in adopting a pet from HCHS must fill out an Adoption Questionnaire. The Adoption Specialists then interview the potential adopter. During the 24 hour waiting period, a background check is completed and a dog is checked for Heartworm and/or a cat is checked for feline leukemia. The Animal Care Technicians and the Adoption Specialists make sure that the best possible match between potential owner and pet is accomplished.
Adoption fees include the cost to spay or neuter the animal. Dogs receive a heartworm check, DHPP vaccination (includes distempter, hepatitis, parvo & parainfluenze), physical at local veterinarian office, microchip
