Union County Humane Society
Our Mission
UCHS is a private nonprofit organization with a mission of connecting people with animals and enriching lives.
Our vision is to be a compassionate organization that places every adoptable animal into a forever home and effectively advocates for the humane treatment of animals. We coordinate programs and services for the people and animals of our community that increase public awareness and education. We are an organization committed to continuous improvement. We never set a time limit on any animal.
Adoption Policy
At the Union County Humane Society, we spay/neuter, microchip, temperament test and vet check 100% of the animals we adopt to the public and continue to work with our adopters following adoption.
We put over $350 into each pet we adopt out. Each Adopted Animal:
- Has been examined by our veterinarian
- Has been spayed/neutered
- Is on heart-worm preventative
- Is on flea preventative
- Has been treated for worms
- Has been vaccinated
- Has been micro-chipped
Adoptions can occur on the day you come in to meet your forever friend. Stop in and see us! If you rent, we need to confirm you are permitted pets.
All adoptions are subject to staff approval.
