Our Mission
The Geauga County Dog Shelter takes in stray dogs throughout Geauga County. By law we have to hold a dog three business days - or 72 hrs - before we are able to adopt them into new loving homes.
Every dog is vaccinated, heart worm tested, and spayed/neutered. All adoptions are on a first come, first to adopt basis. Adoption fees range from $120.00-$200.00. We accept cash only please.
Our hours are Friday through Tuesday, 10am to 3pm each day. Wednesdays 10am to 1pm. Closed Thursdays and most major holidays.
This Shelter is not your typical shelter. This Shelter has the most amazing staff, Volunteers and Community. This Shelter truly gets to know each and every Visitor. Excited is an understatement with every adoption. It jumps up and down and even cries a little when watching a former Visitor take that ride home.
This Shelter does a whole lot with very little. If you would like to know what special is, please come meet us during adoption hours. We would love to show you around.
Adoption Policy
We are a first come, first to adopt shelter. If you plan to come meet one of our adoptable dogs, we suggest that all family members come along, including the four legged ones.
