St. Lawrence Valley SPCA
Our Mission
The mission of the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA is to provide food, shelter and compassionate care for homeless animals, promote quality adoptions, educate the public on responsible pet ownership and to advocate spay/neuter as the only humane way to control the unwanted pet population
Adoption Policy
A potential adopter is required to fill out an adoption questionnaire. If under 18 they must provide written permission of a parent or guardian to adopt. If they rent, their landlord must provide written permission for them to house the pet at the rented home. They're asked to provide the names and ages of all those residing in the home, even those who do not live there fill time. They're asked how many other animals they may have and the species. They must agree to allow a representative of the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA to visit their home if there is reason to suspect the animal is not being cared for properly. They are then interviewed by the Shelter Manager.
