Huntington Shelter and Adoption Center
Our Mission
Did you know New York State Agricultural and Markets law requires dogs be licensed and have up to date Rabies Vaccinations? License fees vary by township. In Huntington, dog licenses can be obtained at town hall in the Clerk's office. The license fee for an altered dog is $8.50, for an unaltered dog the license fee is $18.50.
Please feel free to contact the shelter with any questions or concerns.
We are the Town of Huntington's municipal animal shelter and adoption center. We are responsible for the enforcement of town codes relating to dogs and we care for and shelter both misplaced and surrendered dogs. Whether you are looking for a mature pet that is already housebroken or a puppy, we have the pet you are looking for.  We will help you find one that is just right for you.
