Our Mission
The Animal Control Division of Los Alamos County Police Department is committed to protecting the safety of citizens and animals within our community. Our goals are to create partnerships within the community in order to promote responsible pet ownership, decrease the overpopulation of domestic pets, and to place adoptable animals in forever homes. Los Alamos County Animal Control is a multifaceted agency dedicated to providing the citizens of Los Alamos County with animal care services and resources. We are an organization that values community partnerships and working jointly to build a better world for animals and the people who own them. Los Alamos County Animal Control takes pride in initiating and implementing progressive programs and practices.
Adoption Policy
Cat Adoptions Include:
Spay or Neuter, Rabies Vacciantion, FVRCP vaccination, FELV/FIV Test, FELV Vaccination, Deworming and a Microchip.
7 years and older $35.00
6 months - 6 years $50.00
under 6 months $75.00
Dog Adoptions Include:
Spay or Neuter, Rabies Vacciantion, Da2pp (Parvo-distemper) vaccination, Heartworm Testt, Bordetella (kennel cough) Vaccination, Deworming and a Microchip.
7 years and older $60.00
6 months - 6 years $75.00
