Only Maine Coons Rescue
Our Mission
We are a small close-knit group of volunteers who share a common love of the Maine Coon cat breed.
OMC! (Only Maine Coons Rescue) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit rescue group that specializes in saving the lives of Maine Coon mix cat/kittens from high euthanasia rate shelters and unwanted situations. Our mission is to save “Coonies” from dire situations, and we pride ourselves on doing the following:
Saving Maine Coon mix or Purebred cats/kittens from unwanted situations and high kill shelters.
Providing a safe and loving foster home through to adoption.
Providing necessary veterinary care.
Working with adopters and placing cats in appropriate forever homes.
Working with shelters and the public as in regards to courtesy posts to save Maine Coon cats and to enable them to find appropriate forever homes.
Being readily available to answer all questions, to provide complete adoption details, and to enable the return of any of the Maine Coon cats in our care, should an adoption fail.
Educating the public about the Maine Coon cat breed.
Providing a friendly, accessible, and good relationship with adopters, shelters, and the public.
Providing cats with a loving forever home and adopters with a permanent loving family member.
Adoption Policy
Are you interested in adopting with us?
If you would like to become an approved adopter with OMC (Only Maine Coons Rescue) please complete our Adoption Application. Once you have been approved, you may choose a cat/kitten to adopt. Next we make sure you are both a good match, and then the adoption will proceed.
Once you are approved to adopt a particular cat/kitten, we will ask you to complete the Adoption Agreement form and to make your adoption donation.
If you are adopting a young kitten that has not been spayed or neutered yet, we will ask you to complete the OMC Spay/Neuter Contract and to prepay for this procedure with your vet. You may also use one of the programs that OMC offers; Friends of Animals, www.friendsofanimals.org, or the NJ Spay/Neuter Program (Your Application Coordinator will guide you).
Please note that kittens under the age of 7 months must be adopted into a home with an existing cat or in pairs. Our adoption policy requires that an adopter have a cat already in the home, or that they adopt 2 cats from our group when choosing a kitten under the age of 7 months.
After the completion of this process, arrangements will be made for the cat to be picked up by you. We do not offer transportation.
ADOPTION AREA: We participate with adopters in the following states. DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA,
