Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter
Our Mission
At the Manchester Animal Shelter, we believe all animals are deserving of life, respect and care. Our goal is zero-population-growth through spay/neuter programs and services that focus on education, medical care, fostering and adoption. Friends of Manchester Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization which started in 1996. The shelter takes in homeless, abused, and abandoned animals in the city of Manchester. We provide shelter, medical care, and spay/neuter to every animal that comes through our doors. In operation for nearly two decades, the shelter has helped provide care and find loving homes for over 20,000 animals.
Adoption Policy
The adoption fees for our available animals includes the following: spay or neuter and procedure; 1-year Rabies vaccination if of proper age; distemper vaccination, microchip; and combo test of FIV (feline AIDS) and FeLV (feline leukemia) for cats and Heartworm test for dogs. Other medical care provided might include treatments for fleas, ear mites, dental work or infections or other medical conditions. Additional kitten and puppy vaccinations will be the responsibility of the adopter.
Applications must be filled out at the Shelter, or at one of our other locations (Petsmart during showing hours).
We do not do same-day adoptions. Applications must be filled out for a specific animal and can take 24-48 hours to process for cats and 24-72 hours to process for dog
