Feline Rescue in the Ferry
Our Mission
To respond to the increasing need and implement the effective “under foot” method, in August 2021, Feline Rescue in the Ferry was formalized as a 501(c)(3). A building was purchased by the founder and donated as the base of operations. A network of veterinary services was developed to provide wellness exams, spay/neutering, microchipping and vaccines. Dedicated volunteers were recruited and trained on the method. The purpose of Feline Rescue in the Ferry is to rescue abandoned cats/kittens, complete the complement of veterinary services, acclimate behaviorally and socialize to interaction with other animals and humans and place in appropriate homes within 30 days from rescue. Unless critically ill or injured, none are euthanized.
Adoption Policy
Potential adopters download our application or we email to them. We question their living situation and if they are allowed pets. We question about current and past pets as to vet care and whether or not they've left, given away or lost any pets. We ask if they've have or will declaw a cat. We ask for vet references which are checked. If their references check out, and they satisfy our questions, they are approved.
