Mayberry 4 Paws
Our Mission
Mayberry 4 Paws is a non-profit group that works to subsidize the cost of spaying and neutering pets ib economically disadvantaged households. The ultimate goal is to reduce the number of dogs entering the Surry County Animal Shelter and reduce the number of lives lost.
Our moto: See something. Say something. Do something.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption process starts with a 3 page application. We carefully check all vet history with phone calls and emails. If they pass that area, we check three references that have to be a mix of personal and professional as well as a check of their previous pet owner history. Lastly, if they are approved in all of these areas, there is a home inspection and interview completed.
After adoption, there will be checks on the animal and its well-being, as well as calls in to the vet to ensure that they animal's health is being maintained and that the animal remains up to date on preventatives.
If at any time an adoption does not work out, the dog has to return to our rescue.
