Charley's K-9 Rescue
Our Mission
Charley's K-9 Rescue mission is to support 100% of high kill shelters in our community, helping to make North Carolina achieve the goal of "no-kill" status. Every shelter in the state must reach a 90% live release rate to achieve this goal. It is our mission to provide support and training programs that will better aid our community to be successful with their new furry family member while saving dogs from high kill shelters to improve our euthanasia rates.
Adoption Policy
Once we receive an application it is forwarded to our applications manager for screening. She interviews the applicant about their home, work-life, personal life, expected dog life, and previous pet history. We then check references; personal, professional, and vet.
We host a meet and greet with the adopters and their furry friends(if applicable) after a virtual home visit. The next step would be they move into foster with their potential family (including a 2-week shutdown), after the 2-week shutdown our dog trainer does an in-home consultation. After the consultation, the adoption contract is then sent to the family to sign.
