Thompson River Animal Care Shelter
Our Mission
Located in Thompson Falls, Montana, TRACS is dedicated to the welfare of animals in Northwestern Montana and other parts of the country where homeless animals' lives are at great risk. Our goal is to provide shelter for these lost, homeless, neglected, and abused animals until a suitable loving home can be found.
All animals adopted through TRACS will be up to date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered (unless the animal is a puppy going into foster with a future surgery date set). New owners have to agree to license as required, treat the new pet humanely and continue to insure the pet is in a healthy and loving environment.
Working with the community and our extended community in other states, TRACS has grown into a shelter that has and will continue to provide needed assistance to over 1100 homeless pets per year. TRACS will give them an opportunity for a loving home and comfortable life.
TRACS is a non-profit organization and exists solely on donations. With your help we can achieve our goal!
Adoption Policy
TRACS has a pre-screening adoption application that we do require prior to any adoption. The link to that application is listed on this page (and found on the homepage of our website pet-tracs.com. Our adoption specialist will reach out via text to confirm receipt of the application and to discuss next steps, including scheduling an appointment to visit the dog(s) or cats of interest. If the application is accepted and the dog or cat of interest is selected, TRACS does do same day adoptions!! Any questions, please contact us via email or text and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
