Our Mission

The face behind Charlie’s Rescue! They found Charlie wandering the streets in West Memphis, Arkansas at just a few weeks of age. West Memphis Animal Shelter picked up him and his friend. My sister fostered both, and I fell in love with sweet Charlie. We adopted him and he was truly the best dog! He loved everything, happy 100 percent of the time, and the beach was his favorite place. In 2022, I knew something wasn’t right. He had multiple vet visits. All blood work came back great, yet in the back of my mind I feared cancer. He went blind in one eye, and we opted to get an MRI at MUS. The doctor there thought it was nothing and treatable until results came back. By that point, Charlie went blind in the other eye. He had an aggressive form of cancer and there wasn’t anything doctors could do. Thanks to Dr. Christine at Oak Tree Animal Clinic, she kept him comfortable and checked in with me daily. In the end, I had to make the right choice and humanely euthanize. I lost a piece of my heart that day, and it’s been my mission to help as many animals as I can in honor of him. He opened my heart to rescue. He is the reason Charlie’s Rescue exists.

Charlie’s Rescue is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing animals, providing necessary medical care, and finding forever homes for animals in need.
