Bright Point Rescue
Our Mission
Bright Point Rescue (f.k.a. PROUD Detroit) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization animal rescue.
Founded in 2015, our mission is to turn dark pasts into bright futures for the animals we serve. We rescue the unwanted, abandoned, neglected, abused and sick and we give them the love and care they need to thrive. All of our dogs and cats are spayed or neutered prior to finding their forever families.
Adoption Policy
Our adoptables are fully vetted, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption, with the exception of puppies under 6 months of age. In those instances, the puppies are adopted with a spay/neuter agreement stating the adopter agrees to spay/neuter after 6 months of age (per our vet's recommendation).
Our process:
Complete a Petfinder inquiry.
IF there is not a meet-and-greet/pending adoption already scheduled and we are still in search of the perfect home then:
One of our adoption counselors will contact you to discuss the adoption of the pet that you are interested in.
A meet-and-greet is scheduled so that you can meet your potential family member.
After a successful meet-and-greet, if our adoptable is a match for you/your family, adoption is finalized!
Please understand that we are (by design) a very small volunteer-run rescue. Our puppies, kittens and purebred adoptables often get a great deal of inquiries and we do not conduct phone interviews for everyone who inquires, as we do not have the resources for that type of follow-up. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Thank you for considering a Bright Point Rescue adoptable!
