Animal House of South East Michigan, Inc.
Our Mission
Animal House of South East Michigan is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. AHSEM's goal is to provide a safe haven for homeless, abused, or injured animals. We work to find all of our animals a loving and forever home and to reunite owners with their lost pets. We strive to educate the public on how to properly and humanely handle the responsibilities of pet ownership. We believe every animal deserves to live a healthy and happy life. All animals deserve a chance no matter their backstory or their physical health.
Adoption Policy
When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
Our adoption fees are as follows:
$155 for a single cat or kitten
$195 for a pair of cats or kittens
Please note that we do not do same day adoptions and all adoption fees are non-refundable.
AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment.
However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back.
We are also flexible if more time is needed to determine if its the right fit.
We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
