Kalamazoo County Animal Services & Enforcement
Our Mission
Kalamazoo County Animal Services & Enforcement is the only stray animal shelter in Kalamazoo County. Hundreds of lost, abandoned, unwanted and seized animals come to our shelter each year. While those animals are here, we feed and care for them until they are claimed by their owners, a new family, a rescue group, or until we can no longer keep the animal in our facility.
If you are missing your pet:
Come into the Animal Services shelter at least once a week
Check the Kalamazoo Gazette or Craig's List for found animal listings
Check the page "Kalamazoo Area Lost Pets" on Facebook
Put up signs in your area, and let neighbors be aware so they can keep an eye out too!
If you find your lost pet at the shelter, there will be fees to "bail out" your pet. Please contact the shelter for specifics.
Adoption Policy
After an animal's required stray hold period (if applicable), pets are available first-come, first-serve.
To adopt, you will have to meet the animal and fill out a short application in person at the shelter. Please bring with you: your ID, proof of home ownership and/or landlord contact info and the animal's adoption fee.
