Community Cats of Benzie County
Our Mission
Mission
Our mission is to reduce the number of unaltered, free-roaming, stray, feral and/or abandoned domestic cats in Benzie County through:
TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs that require a dedicated caregiver for each individual colony
Adoption of placeable cats and kittens into loving homes
Education and encouragement of participation of compassionate community members, other animal support groups, veterinarians and local government
Support low-cost spay/neuter programs to low income families
Support local legislation that requires that all animals (canine or feline) that are adopted from the Benzie County Animal Shelter be sexually altered prior to adoption, even pediatric animals
Support local legislation that encourages responsible pet ownership
Adoption Policy
We ask for a minimum donation of $75.00 to adopt a kitten.  This helps to defray the cost of medical care for that kitten and "pays it forward" so that we can continue to provide quality health care for all kittens (and cats) in our care.   Please fill out an application if you are interested in adopting a kitten.  Please complete the Adoption Application at http://benziecats.org/adoption-application/. Thank you!
All of our kittens and cats are in foster homes so that we can see personalities unfold and be able to know habits, likes and dislikes. That way we can match human to feline to try to make the best match for both.
