Sanilac County Humane Society
Our Mission
Sanilac County Humane Society was founded as a 501(c)3 non-profit, "no-kill" shelter in 1996. We continue to be a small, independent, volunteer operated shelter, dedicated to rescuing homeless, abandoned or owner surrendered companion animals, and finding them permanent loving homes.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is focused on the welfare of the animals. It includes an application, personal and vet reference check, and a brief interview. Our goal is to do what is in the best interest of each animal in our care. Â As of May 1, 2017 the adoption fee for dogs and puppies is $200.00. The adoption fee for cats and kittens is $100.00.
A fee may be reduced if an applicant is approved to adopt more than one animal at the same time.
In an effort to place senior dogs and cats into loving homes our adoption fee for a senior dog over seven (7) years is only $120 and for a senior cat over six (6) years only $80. Our cats and kittens are adopted to indoor homes only for their safety
WE DO NOT DNA TEST - ALL OF OUR PETS ARE MIXED BREEDS AND WILL LOVE YOU JUST AS MUCH!
