Friends of Michigan Animal's Rescue is a no-kill animals shelter for dogs and cats. It began in the living room of Pete and Marcy LaFramboise in April 2003. We now are a two building facility located on 6.5 acres. Once an animals arrives at FMAR, it has a home for life, whether we are able to adopt it out or not.

Adoption Policy
You can visit the shelter Monday-Saturday by calling in advance to schedule an appointment. Please leave a message at 734-461-9458 and we will return your call within one - two days. Please note the shelter is run by volunteer staff and does not have regular business hours. We do however try our best to schedule a time that works for you and your family. FMAR is CLOSED on Sundays.

A few of FMAR's adoptable animals can be seen at the PETCO in Westland on the third Saturday of the month between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Stop by to learn more about us or to inquire about one of our pets. If you find a pet on line you would like to see at one of our Petco Saturdays, please give us a call and we will discuss bringing that pet with us. Thank you for your interest in FMAR and our adoptable pets.
