PittieLove Rescue Inc.
Our Mission
PittieLove Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer, foster-home-based rescue dedicated to the care, understanding, and adoption of the American Pit Bull Terrier. PittieLoves primary goal is to ensure that our rescued dogs will never again suffer from abuse or neglect. We work diligently to carefully place them into loving homes where, for all of their remaining years, they will experience the affection and kindness that has been so sorely absent from their lives.
Working closely with animal shelters, animal control facilities and rescue organizations, and volunteers throughout New England, we strive to save as many dogs as our resources will allow. All dogs who successfully pass our temperament evaluation are placed into loving foster homes where they are provided with quality veterinary care, initial training, and extensive socialization (with both people and animals of all ages). All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
As experienced pit bull parents, all of our volunteers are happy to assist potential fosters and adopters with any questions or concerns they may have at every stage of each of our dogs' lives, and beyond. Potential adopters are provided with applicable information relating to the specific dog that they are interested in.
Although we do not accept dogs into our program that show aggression toward other dogs, we prefer to place our rescued dogs as only pets or with a compatible dog of the opposite sex.¹
Our strict adoption policies include, but are not limited to, a comprehensive application process (with personal and vet reference checks), an initial phone screen, and a home visit. Please read our Adoption Policies for more detailed information.
¹ It is important to distinguish the difference between dog/animal aggression and human aggression. Human aggression is not a normal trait of pit bull-type dogs.
Adoption Policy
One of the biggest contributors to the plight of the pit bull is a lack of commitment by owners. Pit bulls live about 12-14 years. Much can change in your life in that amount of time, so it is important to be sure you are considering your new dog as a member of the family who will be with you through thick and thin.
Our Adoption Donation includes spay/neuter, microchip, testing for heartworm and tick-borne illnesses, and vaccinations. All of our pit bulls will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm prevention prior to adoption.
Dog Placement
All of our pit bulls will be placed as only dogs or with a compatible dog of the opposite sex.
