The Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter's mission is to balance the health, safety, and welfare of the people and animals by protecting the rights of people from the dangers and nuisances caused by uncontrolled animals, ensuring the protection of animals from mistreatment, and promoting and motivating responsible pet ownership.
Adoption Policy
Let's Get This ADOPTION Party Started!!!
Adoptions are handled BY APPOINTMENT, so please submit your adoption questionnaire and our adoption team will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet your new friend! Our adoption team makes every effort to make a great match for animals and adopters. Our adoption process begins with completing a simple adoption questionnaire (www.tpcg.org/adoptme). Shortly after you submit your completed questionnaire, you will receive a call from our adoption team to start the matching process. Don't worry, we our goal isn't to judge you, so we won't be prying deep into your privacy. Our goal is to match you with a pet that is right for your home so that you both will live happily ever after!!
Off-site Adoption Events
Cats are on display for adoption at PetSmart every day during the week!! Stop by and see them!<
Adoption Fees
• Dogs/Puppies - $50
• Cats/Kittens - $25
• Others - $15
Wow! You get ALL this AND a lifetime of love for a small fee!
Adoption fees include ALL of the following:
• brief health exam
• testing (species/age appropriate such as heartworms(dogs), Feluk/FIV(cats))
• first set of vaccinations
• dewormer
• microchip (including registration)
• heartworm preventative (initial 30-day dose for dogs when applicable)
• flea prevention (already applied on the pet what at the shelter)
• spay/neuter
• starter bag of Science Diet food (with coupons)
