Little Orphans Kitten Rescue, Inc.
Our Mission
We are a nonprofit group whose mission is to provide care to motherless kittens who are too young to have been weaned. In other words, we do bottle-babies! Kittens come to us at ages ranging from one day to six weeks old.
All of our adoptable kittens are up to date on shots, have been tested for FIV and FeLV, have been spayed or neutered, are microchipped, and have been dewormed.
We feed exclusively KMR (by PetAg) and Royal Canin Babycat.
Adoption Policy
Our complete adoption application form is available to complete online at www.orphankittens.org.
The adoption fee partially covers cost of spay/neuter, first FVRCP vaccine, and microchip. Adopters may choose to take kittens to their own vets for these services but will be responsible for the cost. Sometimes we are able to offer discounts on our adoption fees. Please ask when you email for information.
Little Orphans is a foster-based program. All of our kittens are raised in private homes by caring families. Prospective adopters need to complete an adoption application prior to requesting a meeting with a kitten.
Our adoption process, step-by-step:
1. Complete an adoption application.
2. Application is reviewed, including contacting references.
3. An invoice for the adoption fee is sent via PayPal, which must be paid within 24 hours to secure the adoption.
4. Kitten is scheduled for spay/neuter and microchip. Arrangements are made with adopter for pickup day and time.
5. Once LOKR has the microchip number, an Adoption Agreement and Release form is sent via Adobe Sign for the adopter to sign. The form includes the kitten's medical information and microchip information, as well as a signed form allowing our clinic to release information to the adopter.
6. You pick up your kitten, get your picture taken with them, and take your new family-member home!
