Leitchfield Animal Shelter
Our Mission
We are an open intake facility for the City of Leitchfield and Grayson County Stray dogs. All domestic dogs and cats will be adopted out after their 5 day hold time is up. Owner surrenders from Leitchfield will be immediately adoptable. For Animal Control during business hours call 270-230-8839. For after hour emergencies, please call 270-259-0303. We do walk-in $10 nail trims and $25 microchips. Please notify us if you have lost or found a pet. People seeking volunteer or community service hours are welcome. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Adoption Policy
To adopt or to set up a meet & greet, please fill out an adoption application on our website LeitchfieldAnimalShelter.com. Once we receive your application, we will call you the next business day to set up a meeting. Most of our adoptable animals will be eligible for same day adoptions.
