Our Mission
We are a small, rural Kentucky shelter with only 25 runs so adoptions and rescue are extremely important to us. The dogs and cats we take in are very well cared for under our supervision. Owner surrenders are immediately available for adoption. Any dog picked up as a stray must be held for the state mandated five day stray hold period before being released for adoption. Â Â
We also attempt to temperament test all dogs to ensure they are adoptable in regard to getting along with other dogs and even the shelter cat. Of course, dogs can behave differently, based on their environment and other factors. Our limited ability to spend long periods of time with each dog wont guarantee a dog doesnt or couldnt have "issues" going forward.

Adoption Policy
Online adoption applications can be found at breckcountyanimalshelter.org
The adoption fee range from $25.00 to $200.00 for dogs,puppies, cats and kittens.
Adoption Fee will include spay/neuter surgery, 1 year rabies vaccine,parasite treatment (worms,flea & tick), first round of core vaccine shots.
We have a 5 day return policy from the date of adoption.
Also provide adoption trails/foster, take home an animal for up to two weeks to see if the pet is the right fit for you.
 All puppies and dogs receive DAPP at the shelter and are wormed.
