Our Mission
Kentucky Dachshund Rescue saves Dachshunds and other small breeds from euthanasia by providing food, medical care, love and time for them to find a forever home.
Adoption Policy
***AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY***Kentucky Dachshund rescue organization accepts small breed dogs around 25 lb and under. Pets are placed in loving foster homes. We fully vet all dogs on intake including all vaccines, spay/neuter, dental if needed.
1-Applications submitted on our web site (there is a link from petfinder to our site) are accepted and screened thru reference calls and home visits.
2-Foster parents arrange meet n greets with potential families and together they decide if its a good match.
3-Contracts are drawn and the adoption takes place.
Fees go forward to save yet more animals in need.
KDR adopts to the following states: Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri and Tennessee, Virginia and W. Virginia .WE do require a fenced area which can be a yard, enclosed deck, enclosed patio or exercise pen or be able to walk your dog daily on a leash. SEE THE PICS ON OUR WEB SITE FOR THOSE APPROVED FENCED AREAS.
NO underground electric fences allowed. We also provide follow up to assure a dog is safe and loved in its forever home.
